What Is LPG?
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a highly efficient fuel that is stored as a compressed liquid and derived from natural gas processing and oil refining. When pressurised, LPG occupies significantly less space than its gaseous form—making it an ideal energy source for commercial properties where storage space and reliability are critical.
Because LPG is stored under pressure, it can take up to 274 times less space than natural gas, allowing large amounts of usable energy to be stored on site. This makes LPG particularly suitable for businesses located in rural or off-grid areas where a mains gas supply is unavailable.
LPG provides instant, controllable heat, offering performance comparable to mains gas while supporting efficient operation of commercial boilers, warm air heaters and water heating systems. When correctly designed and maintained, LPG systems deliver dependable heating, predictable fuel usage and a strong return on investment.
At Cherwell Heating, we design, install and maintain commercial LPG heating systems that prioritise safety, efficiency and long-term performance—ensuring your business benefits from a reliable energy solution without compromise.
